Gebärmutter

2018-23
Gebärmutter (Womb) is an ongoing documentation of a new beginning and its unfolding; of precious and extraordinary ordinary encounters I have experienced since moving to Berlin.

I left my hometown and moved to Berlin one year ago (2017). I needed to have a deviation in my life, some sort of reset. I yearned for a place where I felt I belonged and where I could grow; a place I could call home. I thought a change of roots, or rather of background –involving the adaptation to a new language, atmosphere, culture– would help me to reach this objective, and I believe it is working that way.

It is strange how the city has changed through my eyes from the first moment until now. Such a beautiful landscape to observe. The city seems like an organism to me, similar to a human being: it grows, evolves, goes backwards, breathes and rests, it has problems, it is good and bad, it is bright and dark. I like Berlin. It is a rare magical beloved shelter; a foreign womb.
